Why We Do What We Do
Medical Wings International's approach to medical charity relief work
Dr. David Diwa
People give to charity many different ways; some contribute money, others their time or their skills. At MWI, we welcome all levels of commitments that help bring healthcare to areas of the world with limited resources. MWI volunteers come mostly from professional fields. Professional or not they all are involved in delivering global healthcare.
The team atmosphere makes it possible for the groups of healthcare volunteers to deliver quality healthcare with limited resources in very challenging clinical settings. Over the course of many international missions, healthcare volunteers in the various disciplines have come to work with and know one another well. They have learned to harness the uniqueness and strength of each global community by tapping into the local healthcare and philanthropic organizations.
MWI typically incorporates its personnel, equipment, sponsors and local infrastructure into executing healthcare missions abroad. Healthcare volunteers achieve a great deal of satisfaction in working directly with local leaders, host country professional organizations and volunteers from corporate sponsors. The health education program has flourish into a major part of MWI. The essence of Medical Wings International's work lies not only in the strong relationships we build with people in the countries we operate in but also in the enduring legacy left behind.
